Recesstime is helping Sellwood Middle School Foundation host a dodgeball fundraiser this Friday night (March 5th) from 6:30-8:30.
$5 at the door will give you two hours of dodgeball and Pizzicato pizza! Your five bones goes to a good cause supporting kids in Portland schools! Last year the funds the Sellwood Foundation raised went directly into funding our P.E. program, which promotes healthy lifelong sports such as dodgeball.
We will have three courts running if you have kids you can bring them and we’ll have games for all ages and ability. Kids must be accompanied by a parent!
Sellwood Middle School is at 8300 SE 15th Avenue, 97202.
Volunteer refs are needed. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Thanks to your feedback in our recap survey, we learned a lot from your 2009 kickball cheers and jeers. After careful consideration we made some changes to our kickball rules, all changes are highlighted in yellow but we’ll touch on the big ones here:
No more jackass cards. Why? Well, it was a slightly socially awkward during a sensitive moment to then have the official on the field call a player a donkey. This rule started in 2003 and it was time for a little refining. We’ve moved onto warnings, yellow and red cards. It’s more clearly defined and we think it will make your kickball experience better!
We have added a rule about wild pitches, some know that pitch by a different name but either way it’s now defined and will be called a ball or a walk.
You can check out other rule changes by clicking here if you’d like to get in on the rules discussion on our forums, click here.
Spring kickball starts March 28th. Teams will have two leagues to choose from, early afternoon (games from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) and late afternoon (games from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM) each league is capped at 32 teams. We’ll play every Sunday until the end of season tournament, May 21st and 22nd.
Registration for returning teams opens on Friday, February 19 at 12:00 PM (team captains will be receiving an email with links shortly).
Registration for new teams opens Wednesday, February 24th.
